The summer season has begun and what if you find that your AC is not turning on? It can turn your day into the worst day of your life because of extreme heat and sweat. But sometimes professional help is not needed to fix your AC. There are many reasons why your air conditioner will not turn on, some of which are common to understand that owners can easily repair while avoiding the air conditioner repair cost?

Read on to find out what could be a problem with your AC, and learn how to fix the problem yourself. If you continue to have problems after reading this article, you should go to your meteorologist, or if you are a resident of Jamshedpur, you can call us. We will come to your door and fix the problem quickly.

Here we are enlisting some common reasons why your AC is not turning On?

Possible cause  1: Power problem

Although this may seem self-explanatory at first, you sometimes forget to investigate the most common reason for not turning on your air conditioner - electrical issues!

Look around your house if there is no power stuck or if there is a blown fuse. This often happens in the hot summer when your air conditioner is working overtime to keep you cool, calm, and relaxed.

To fix this problem, first, check that your air conditioner is set to the “cold” setting. Change the temperature to 5 degrees cooler than your current setting. If it still doesn't work, see if the breaker is the culprit. You can do this on your control box to see if any of the switches have tripped. In real computer fashion, the question is always, "Have you tried turning it on and off again?" However, if the problem occurs again, be careful and call the professionals.

Possible cause  2: Defective control board

Another reason for AC is not turning On. These days most air conditioners have what is called a control board or PCB assembly. This effectively controls all the various small elements in your air conditioning unit. Due to this function, it can be extra difficult to identify where the problem lies.

Not to worry when we are here to guide you. If you can, check whether compressor or fan circuits are running effectively or not. Otherwise, the dashboard is more likely to be blamed for you sweating in the heat. Otherwise, a blown internal fuse could also be the culprit, which you should find and replace your own.

Always check your user manual carefully before trying to fix the problem. And when in doubt, it is always a better option to call the professionals.

Possible cause  3: Temperature Control Issues

Sometimes AC is not able to record the right temperature that commonly suggests the problem with a temperature control unit.
The temperature of your air conditioner is usually controlled by a temperature sensor that monitors the room. If this connection from the census to the electrical unit is bad, the temperature will never cool down. Imagine a census as your brain sends impulses to your body. In the same way, this connection is essential for the operation of your air conditioner.

Check that your unit is getting the proper power supply or that the fan is working by switching on the fan-only option if you have one in your air conditioner. Listen carefully to the temperature to see if the sensor and electrical unit are connecting to the connecting click.

Reason 4: The thermostat is faulty

If your AC is not turning On, the thermostat may malfunction. Without a working thermostat, your air conditioner will not know when to turn it on and off, leaving you feeling uncomfortable and sticky during the day or night.

While this may sound obvious, did you check to see that the thermostat is on? If the screen is not on, it cannot be turned off and is therefore easy to fix by switching it back on again.

If this is not the problem, try changing the battery to see if anything changes. If all else fails, it may be time to call the professionals for your advice and/or install a brand-new thermostat to cool things down for you.

Possible cause 5: Jam-packed drain line

The condensate drain line can be prevented which can cause problems. To operate, air conditioning units create condensates, which in turn pass through a drain line. Naturally, if this line is off, your air conditioner will not turn on as a safety switch, which will travel to avoid serious damage or danger.

The simple solution to this problem is to unclog the line. You can potentially reopen it back using a shop vacuum or some type of suction. Alternatively, if your air conditioning unit has a condensate drain pump to perform this task, it may be faulty, and what is causing the safety switch to travel.

Possible cause 6: The air filter is clogged

An old or closed filter can turn off your air conditioner or even freeze it.

Be sure to clean or change the air filter in your air conditioning unit regularly (it is recommended to do this every three months).

Reason 7: Drainpipe is flooding

If the pan under your indoor air conditioning unit is filled with water, your air conditioner does not turn on for safety reasons.

Clean it and this issue should be resolved. If not, some other elements can cause problems.

Possible cause 8: Dirty Air Conditioner

If your air conditioner does not turn on, the reason may be as simple as this: it is dirty! If the evaporator coil or condenser coils are dirty, they may refuse to ignite.

Arrange regular air conditioning to make sure everything is kept in top condition.

To ensure that your air conditioning system works properly throughout the year, it is common for a licensed technician to inspect and maintain it regularly for cleaning and repairs. Regular air conditioning maintenance will not only increase their efficiency but can also extend the life of the unit up to 10 years.
