Cashew apple is a strange fruit, the seed is outside the fruit. It tastes very sweet with an astringent taste to it. Unlike
typical cut and eat fruits its flesh is very fibrous, you just bite into it and suck out all the tasty juices.
The seed in the bottom contains the cashew we all know but it doesn’t look like it because the husk is removed by toasting.
The husk contains a caustic oil which is toxic, even topically so the processing is done in a open airy place. Cashew processing is one of the dangerous jobs.
